The art and science of a beautiful garden
at the heart of a beautiful garden

An extensive knowledge of plants, soils and climatic conditions is what lies at the heart of a beautiful garden.  We are keenly aware that soils assessment is critical to the first step of garden design.  This along with a true understanding of native plants (not a cultivar or a biological extrapolation of a native plant, but a native plant referred to by its scientific name) is at the forefront of our design process.  Though we prefer and favor native plants, we welcome others that behave hospitably in our challenging Southwest Colorado Mountains.  Plants earn their keep based on the conditions of the site, availability of resources, and their ability to express the intent of the design.

Our design and maintenance practices are specific to our local environment. With over thirty years of combined experience implementing proven gardening techniques, we know what it takes to ensure the success of a newly constructed landscape.  As such, we incorporate a regimented maintenance program into the first five years of the life of a new landscape.  With the proper amendments, mulches, fertilizers and watering techniques, you can rest assured your garden is well tended to.

Though sticklers to the native and the locale, we are always looking for a unique touch to our gardens and we cautiously incorporate new plants into our designs as they prove their merit.
